Packaging Manufacturers Association (ASD) is the leading umbrella organization representing Turkey's packaging industry. Established in 1992 by the initiative of 39 packaging producers, ASD currently unites over 250 member companies covering all sectors of the industry.
PURPOSE OF THE PACKAGING MANUFACTURERS ASSOCIATION
The primary objective of ASD is to support and foster the development of Turkey's packaging industry, establish a robust and cohesive industry identity, enhance unity and collaboration among members, and ensure effective representation of the industry at national and international platforms.
ASD's vision is to be recognized as a respected and influential non-governmental organization, playing a pivotal role in the sustainable development of Turkey's packaging industry, while significantly contributing to the broader economic, social, and cultural growth of society.
ASD's mission is to lead the sustainable and healthy growth of the packaging industry, assume a unifying and integrative role among stakeholders, and effectively communicate accurate analyses and insights regarding industry developments.
The Crescent and Stars of Packaging Competition, Turkey's most prestigious packaging design contest, is organized biennially by ASD. Winners qualify to represent Turkey at prestigious international competitions organized by the World Packaging Organization (WPO) and the Asian Packaging Federation (APF). Packaging entries submitted by local and international companies undergo rigorous evaluation based on 11 distinct criteria.
In 2025, the 21st edition of the National Packaging Design Student Competition will be held with support from the Eurasia Packaging Istanbul Fair, aiming to encourage young designers' interest in the packaging industry. All university students enrolled in relevant departments are eligible to participate. Winning students earn the opportunity to compete in the WorldStar Student Competition organized by WPO and the AsiaStar competition organized by APF.
Our magazine "Ambalaj Dünyası" published since 2013, is one of the leading and reputable publications in the packaging industry. It serves as a significant communication platform, bringing together prominent manufacturers, suppliers, designers, and brand representatives.
Pack Converting magazine is one of Turkey's longest-standing industry publications, bringing innovative technological advancements in the packaging sector to its readers. Approaching its 98th issue in 2025, our magazine remains an essential information resource for industry professionals.
Since January 2013, the Packaging Bulletin has been published periodically in both Turkish and English as an e-bulletin. Aiming to share the latest developments in the packaging industry as well as ASD's activities on both national and international platforms, the Packaging E-Bulletin stands out as one of the most prominent media outlets reflecting the pulse of the industry.
Established in 2014, the ASD Packaging Academy aims to fulfill the educational needs of our industry from a single center. In 2025, our Academy continues to offer expanded training programs in line with evolving industry requirements.
Organized in cooperation between ASD and RX Tüyap, and supported by leading industry associations, Eurasia Packaging Istanbul Fair continues to grow each year, maintaining its position as the most comprehensive and largest packaging fair in the Eurasia region.
ASD actively represents our industry on international platforms, ensuring effective global representation and advocacy. ASD maintains active membership in significant international organizations such as the World Packaging Organization (WPO), the International Association of Packaging Research Institutes (IAPRI), and the Asian Packaging Federation (APF).
